- Use the App’s built-in messaging to chat with the prospective employer and keep your contact details secure. Offer your contact information only when you feel comfortable and confident in the person you were communicating with.
- Before meeting in person, it is advised to chat by phone or video call (FaceTime, WhatsApp, Skype etc.) to get a better idea of who you are really talking to.
- Report improper behaviour. If you encounter any suspicious, rude or abusive conduct, report it to Kynderway here.
- Schedule the interview in a public place, where there are people around (ex. A café or restaurant).
- Do you Research. If you are meeting with a Business representative at their office (for a job offer from a business client like a company, agency, hotel, restaurant etc.) request the address beforehand and perform a Google search to learn the exact location and plan the best route to be there on time.
- Tell a trusted one about the interview. Inform people you trust about the upcoming meeting, giving details such as time and location. Make sure to have your fully charged phone with you and arrange to check-in at a certain time.
- Be prepared. Bring your photographic ID for your identity verification and original copies of documentation to verify experience, training and qualifications.
- Verifiable references and a criminal background check is very important and useful to successfully get a job.
- Request the person you are meeting with to also provide documentation to verify their identity and ask for character references from previous employees or professionals.
- In the case of an international match, ensure that the future employer is legally welcome and able to employ someone in the desired host country in accordance with the regulations of that country.
SERVICE SEEKERS
- Always arrange an interview with the potential candidate, either face-to-face or via video call.
- Be vigilant. It is absolutely important to carry out careful and detailed checks before engaging someone in a role. When interviewing the candidate:
- verify their identity via photographic ID
- ask for documentation (i.e. proof of experience, training, qualifications, authorisations and suitability for the position they are applying)
- follow up on references of the candidates you are interested in hiring
- always request an up-to-date background or criminal record check. If the Provider does not have it, you have every right to request one.
- in the case of an international match, ensure that the future Provider is legally welcome in the desired host country in accordance with the regulations of that country
- Once you are satisfied with the potential provider, ensure:
- they have their own independent insurance coverage and that their insurance covers working in your home
- the compliance with appropriate regulations such as, but not limited to, applicable taxation, fiscal, employment, anti-discrimination and other laws in connection with any relationship established with a Service Provider in a specific host country
- If requiring the Provider to travel whilst performing their duties, you should cover related costs. Also, you would be responsible for obtaining insurance, work and other permits, medical examinations and/or investigations into the medical history of the Service Provider and qualifications required by law of the country in which they are to travel as part of their job.
